[ you know who would fucking love all these location is taair there are so many birds.
strohl is not taair. therefore, he's warily eyeing the flamingos at the pool from where he's sitting on a lounger thing because he has never seen a flamingo in his life. what the HELL is that thing. they're having some kind of staring contest..... before he tosses the pea from his drink (????) in that general direction and it distracts the birds. alpha win.
also it's the pool so he's not got a shirt on. it means kazuki can see he's got the pictured tattoo on his left arm, and also a fresh new one on his right in the same spot! it looks like it's reddened and it's got one of those fancy plastic wrap things to protect it on top of it, even. it is not glittery.
he gives a sup nod once he spots kazuki in his peripheral. ] Oh. [ pauses briefly... then looks back at the birds. ] Afternoon. Odd looking bird, isn't it...?
[ hateful how he sees the tattoos and immediately decides that strohl can have one (1) coolness point. he nods back then follows his gaze with a frown. ]
What, the flamingos? Guess they do look kind of weird when you think about it.
To me, those aren't that strange. [ pause ] ...Usually.
[ warily eyes the birds. in the meantime strohl jr goes running right up to the birds, ruining their dinner because he wants attention. strohl himself sighs ]
You mean Vi-san? [ he remembers strohl jr. being on her profile. ] She did seem the type. I wish we had more time to get to know her. She was always pretty cool when I talked to her.
's right [ i wish we had more time to get to know her. yeah. he smiles a little bit at that - a crook at the corner of his mouth. him too, and he knew her the longest.
as for the tattoo question - he looks away from his idiot son, who is not actually in trouble but instead befriending the flamingos - coming back from whatever thought he was drifting off to and tilting his head. ]
Which one? [ a little wryly, since there are in fact two. ]
's where I got it. [ claires! ] They do regular ones, as well. Just have to ask.
[ sure enough, if he examines it closely he'll see not a trace of glitter in this tattoo! it's normal. plain black! c: i asked the mods and they said yes. ]
[ there's a little smile to that - he shifts so kazuki can get a good look at the old one, first. ]
The left is part of the heraldic crest of House Haliaetus - 's what the banner says, underneath. I got it a few years ago, as soon as I was old enough to sit in the chair and cajole them into needling me.
[ with a little huff of slight amusement, he shifts to show the other, fresh one. ]
The right, the newer one - I got it for a similar reason. The gryphon was a suggestion from Anders. The VI... [ he pronounces it here as vi, not as vee-eye ] ... probably at least looks relatively familiar. She's got a back piece.
[ made up of the same sort of gear symbol as the one on his. ]
I have my house's herald as a reminder of what I've lost, and what it stands for - and for what all my parents taught me, and how I want to uphold it, in every way that I can. It's a memorial as much as it is a promise, and the same goes for this. [ with a slight nod towards the new tattoo. ] This place trivialises loss, trivialises what it means for someone to die. I never want to forget that their deaths mean something, that the things both of them taught me and gave to me are things I swear I'll never forget, either.
I like to think you make a permanent mark on your body when it matters. And these are things that matter to me.
[ just briefly. but he's listening, nodding along, soaking this in. ]
That, and it just looks cool, even if people don't like them. [ this is maybe the only time he'll ever call strohl "cool" out loud. ] It's a good thought. You should send them pictures when it's ready.
It does, doesn't it? That's a part of the appeal for me too. [ HE DOES WANT TO LOOK COOL........his edgy side is so real........ but he nods, patting his halia one briefly. ] I did - first thing, once it was all done. I want Vi to know she's not invisible. Can't seem to get it through her thick head through a letter.
[ affectionately. ]
Found the whole process sort of relaxing, if I'm honest. [ though... curiously; ] Are you thinking of doing the same?
[ someone who makes efforts. someone who does nothing half-assed. leon strohl loves with his whole heart, remembers with his whole heart, tries to do right in all the eways that he can. though he shrugs a little like eh??? at the pain bit.]
I suppose...? First one I got hurt like bloody hell at first, but it was nice after a little while. This one was better. Maybe it's the technology. [ no this was a real ass tattoo gun it would hurt a normal person strohl is just a freak with trauma
anyway. there's a little recognition on his face... right, he's from a similar place as haru. ] Well. My advice's to draw it out, first - that's what I did with this one. Take the time to put pen to paper with fidelity, see if you're attached to what comes out. Like creating anything, yeah?
You're a smart kid, I doubt you'd just mark yourself up and think it a mistake, but you know what I mean.
[ i don't know* wow you really just miss wholeass words sometimes.
anyway, he can't speak to that so he just focuses on the rest, frowning. ]
Maybe. I guess I'm not really sure how they'd even do tattoos in Euchronia... [ medieval ass world. ] But if you're used to fighting monsters, anyway, maybe your pain tolerance just gets higher over time.
[ but he shrugs. ]
I don't even know what I'd want. Alex suggested maybe a score, but then I'd have to pick a song...
[ i didn't even notice. he shrugs to the first part? ] Needles and igniters.
[ ouchies. anyway! more thoughtfully: ]
Is there a composition that means something particular to you? Would you want it to be related to this place, your experiences...? Or things as a whole?
That... does sound really painful, actually? Yikes.
[ he looks away, frowning. ]
Probably the one that Akito and I wrote, but I didn't even get to perform it for him before... [ ngh. anyway. ] I don't know, though. Maybe things as a whole.
week 4 monday

...Relaxing, though? I've always heard it was painful. Then again, I've also heard it depends on where it is.
[ anyway. he shrugs. ]
It was never an option before. But Alex and I were talking about it, and if I'm not going home, anyway, then... I don't. Maybe.
