[ there's a little smile to that - he shifts so kazuki can get a good look at the old one, first. ]
The left is part of the heraldic crest of House Haliaetus - 's what the banner says, underneath. I got it a few years ago, as soon as I was old enough to sit in the chair and cajole them into needling me.
[ with a little huff of slight amusement, he shifts to show the other, fresh one. ]
The right, the newer one - I got it for a similar reason. The gryphon was a suggestion from Anders. The VI... [ he pronounces it here as vi, not as vee-eye ] ... probably at least looks relatively familiar. She's got a back piece.
[ made up of the same sort of gear symbol as the one on his. ]
I have my house's herald as a reminder of what I've lost, and what it stands for - and for what all my parents taught me, and how I want to uphold it, in every way that I can. It's a memorial as much as it is a promise, and the same goes for this. [ with a slight nod towards the new tattoo. ] This place trivialises loss, trivialises what it means for someone to die. I never want to forget that their deaths mean something, that the things both of them taught me and gave to me are things I swear I'll never forget, either.
I like to think you make a permanent mark on your body when it matters. And these are things that matter to me.
[ just briefly. but he's listening, nodding along, soaking this in. ]
That, and it just looks cool, even if people don't like them. [ this is maybe the only time he'll ever call strohl "cool" out loud. ] It's a good thought. You should send them pictures when it's ready.
It does, doesn't it? That's a part of the appeal for me too. [ HE DOES WANT TO LOOK COOL........his edgy side is so real........ but he nods, patting his halia one briefly. ] I did - first thing, once it was all done. I want Vi to know she's not invisible. Can't seem to get it through her thick head through a letter.
[ affectionately. ]
Found the whole process sort of relaxing, if I'm honest. [ though... curiously; ] Are you thinking of doing the same?
[ someone who makes efforts. someone who does nothing half-assed. leon strohl loves with his whole heart, remembers with his whole heart, tries to do right in all the eways that he can. though he shrugs a little like eh??? at the pain bit.]
I suppose...? First one I got hurt like bloody hell at first, but it was nice after a little while. This one was better. Maybe it's the technology. [ no this was a real ass tattoo gun it would hurt a normal person strohl is just a freak with trauma
anyway. there's a little recognition on his face... right, he's from a similar place as haru. ] Well. My advice's to draw it out, first - that's what I did with this one. Take the time to put pen to paper with fidelity, see if you're attached to what comes out. Like creating anything, yeah?
You're a smart kid, I doubt you'd just mark yourself up and think it a mistake, but you know what I mean.
[ i don't know* wow you really just miss wholeass words sometimes.
anyway, he can't speak to that so he just focuses on the rest, frowning. ]
Maybe. I guess I'm not really sure how they'd even do tattoos in Euchronia... [ medieval ass world. ] But if you're used to fighting monsters, anyway, maybe your pain tolerance just gets higher over time.
[ but he shrugs. ]
I don't even know what I'd want. Alex suggested maybe a score, but then I'd have to pick a song...
[ i didn't even notice. he shrugs to the first part? ] Needles and igniters.
[ ouchies. anyway! more thoughtfully: ]
Is there a composition that means something particular to you? Would you want it to be related to this place, your experiences...? Or things as a whole?
That... does sound really painful, actually? Yikes.
[ he looks away, frowning. ]
Probably the one that Akito and I wrote, but I didn't even get to perform it for him before... [ ngh. anyway. ] I don't know, though. Maybe things as a whole.

anyway he does see the vi in the new one but it just looks like roman numerals to him at a glance. ]
What're they for?

...Relaxing, though? I've always heard it was painful. Then again, I've also heard it depends on where it is.
[ anyway. he shrugs. ]
It was never an option before. But Alex and I were talking about it, and if I'm not going home, anyway, then... I don't. Maybe.
