Yes. Apparently, in some of these games, the people who were killed ended up on the other side in time to watch their own trials.

What would you have thought? It was pitiful. It sounds like he was dead or at least unconscious before he went through the trash compactor too, so that was likely a surprise.

It's frustrating to watch people be idiots about failing. People failing on a whole is usually entertaining, at least somewhat.
