Well. All we've got to do is not fall off. Think we'll be fine.
[ hehe. he will do the same, mounting the pegasus with all the grace of a farm boy. it takes him a bit of wiggling to adjust for the wings, fixing his stature proper and stroking its mane. ]
he knew it was going to fly but still looks kind of breathlessly surprised for a moment as he realizes this is really happening, grip tightening just shy of being painful in the mane before a wide grin spreads over his face.]
[ cute!!! strohl does the same, heels into the horse's side - he lets out a boyish yelp of joy when it takes off, also immediately grabbing on for dear life. he's been flying before, but it's a lot easier like this, on a horse. is this what will feels like all the time? ]
Bloody hell. [ THRILLED ] Something different when it's underneath you like that, isn't it?
[looking down below him as they rise further into the air, the smile staying right where it is as he stares down before looking up at the sky. just - complete wonder and awe!! after a moment:]
Yeah. We're on the same page where it matters most, though.
[shakes his head]
Oh, no. He definitely wouldn't have been Mom's first choice. We met because we were working together to fix something for both of our kingdoms, and - a lot's happened since then, but I wouldn't trade meeting him for anything.
[ cute... no wonder he was pushing on strohl about making his own choices - he smiles a little at it, warm. ]
Still -- sounds a fine match, one way or another, if you're both from separate kingdoms...? Has that gone well enough? I've not asked you much of your homeland, Rupert - shameful of me.
[pausing, though, thinking about the best way to describe it]
Well... It's been a little complicated. Separate kingdoms is one thing, but we were at war for a long time. So a lot of people weren't exactly happy about us joining our lands after that. But I do think it's for the best for everyone that there's not going to be any more fighting.

ishkia horse! well rupert's happiness is contagious. strohl watches the pegasi run around and then puts his hands on his hips. ]
Well? You want to go ride one?
no subject
[yes!!!! he's going to approach one with a grin, holding out a hand once he's closer to beckon it over.]
Have you seen one before?
no subject
[ as he holds out his hands to one of the pegasi, he does seem kind of... natural here. farm boy ]
Have you?

[he seems like he knows what he's doing also! gives this horse some scritches with a grin before moving to get on]

...Amir would've loved something like this.

he takes an easy loop with his pegasus - guiding it around in a wide arc, and just gazes down at the clouds, admiring, though when rupert speaks... ]
Ah. [ recognizing, with an easy smile. ] That's your husband, I take it?
no subject
but he nods with a smile as they keep on going.]
Nonzero chance he would pretend to be really calm and unimpressed by it, but he'd be super excited on the inside.

Opposites attract situation, eh? [ teasing. ] You must know him well. Was it arranged? Or...?
