[ the starter is just that hulkenberg is going to drop down to sit next to him, wherever he is, and offer him a bottled ale as she does. as if they didn't drink enough last night - and she's not even much of a drinker in the first place.
but she's wide awake, now that she's no longer a swan, and just seems... calm, if alert. like she's drinking, yes, but a part of her is keeping watch of the area, prepared to go on the defensive if necessary even now that they've all died. ]
The end period of the vacation is, supposedly, nearly upon us.
[ he will take the drink with a thankful nod, popping the top of it off without much fanfare. he's still feeling yesterday's booze, but in sort of medieval society sometimes booze is better than water, so. bottom's up! besides, it gives him something to do with his hands, and he settles back in his seat to follow hulkenberg's gaze, sweeping out on their surroundings as he considers. ]
Yeah. [ his leg's beginning to bounce a little under the table, thoughtful. ] Means we've got a few days to get a plan together and get the hell back to Euchronia.
[ and... leave all these people behind. including glodell. who could just stay dead. ]
... 'tis a complicated affair, when you come to the crux of it.
[ she props her elbows on the table, holding her own bottle loosely with the fingertips of both hands at the neck. they're both thinking of glodell, who is very much dead by perhaps mere hours to them. the thoughts of others filter through - those she won't be sorry to see go, those that she'll miss, but most of all... those that might need somewhere else to go.
at least it's a weak ale, compared to what they're used to. and a drinik is a drink when you're a ye olde.
hulkenberg takes a small sip, just as something to do, too. ]
I truly doubt that Glodell would believe us, were we to tell him that the fool's lost his life. On one part, I know none of us were sorry to hear it... but on another, 'tis the principle of the thing, is it not?
[ though honestly, strohl has little in the way of the principle of this one - he is a just and honorable man, but it's a place where he and hulkenberg differ. he's willing to lie, to twist and bend when things are necessary, a strategist over a shield. and glodell...
hulkenberg, as the shield to his strategist, knows when someone or something is a threat, especially an overt one. they don't know the full details of what happened with glodell, only that he was a threat to will. and while they have had a partial truce in place, to keep the senseless death to a minimum, it isn't foolproof.
especially not when they get back home. ]
No. And loathe as I am to sentence a man to death, especially one that has "cheated" it, here, 'tis safer for Will - for all of us - if we do not alter fate in this case.

Do you think things'd go different? Honestly.
